penguin129 good luck!! With DD1, we only had her visit the hospital once as she had a hard time leaving us. She was only 20 months though so that may have had something to do with it too. We got her a new book, toy, and a DVD for when we came home.
penguin129 DD was 19 months when DS was born and my parents brought her up to the hospital for a visit. She was scared and didn't really like it and only stayed about 20 mins (although they took her to the cafeteria for lunch and she liked that!). When LO was born DD and DS came up to the hospital and were excited to meet their new brother and weren't scared but were bored super fast. I would keep your expectations low, have them come up after you're showered and in your own clothes, and follow their lead. A hospital is a scary place! Once we got home they all did fine with the transitions.
Achievements: DS finally learning how to swing all by himself! No more needing pushes!
Challenges: DS. He's usually my easy one but has been a pill lately. He doesn't want to nap but gets so cranky and argumentative. Middle child syndrome I guess.
Plans: we're having our house appraised tomorrow for a refinancing so I'm on a cleaning frenzy! Not much else out of the ordinary though.
I'm doing good. I was tired every day last week. Hoping for a bit more energy this week.
Qs/Vs: I bought some Pillsbury orange funfetti frosting yesterday to make Halloween cupcakes and the frosting was awful. It didn't spread well at all and everyone said it tasted funny and ruined my cupcakes
QOTW: hmm... I dunno. I love the activities! It seems like there's always something fun to do.
Thank you ashiscute. I am planning on having my in-laws bring DD1 by tomorrow evening after dinner. I'm not sure if I'll have a shower by that point. Hopefully I'll be in my own clothes. I didn't think about that part. I realize she might be done after 20 mins. I am going to bring my Nook and DD's headphones so when she does lose interest I can just let her watch something on Netflix while we let my in-laws visit.
Thank you too younglove316. I ended up getting DD1 a Doc McStuffins video, toy, coloring book, and crayons to give her at the hospital after she meets DD2. She is staying in my in-laws camper with them and they don't have any toys in there. I packed a toy bag for her but thought a new toy would be nice too. She loves Doc McStuffins and I thought it was a good choice because of being at the hospital.
Achievements: I think we are firmly on the way to having a completely potty trained child! She had one accident this week...but it was a case of just not making it in time.
Challenges: I'm solo parenting for the week. This is the first time I've solo parented for more than a weekend.
Plans for the week? Pretty much just going to try to survive with the least amount of meltdowns possible. We will most likely go to the bookstore on Tuesday...the next book in a series I'm reading is being released.
How are YOU doing? I'm in a kinda weird place where I'm both really happy, and really sad. I just found out my sister is pregnant, yet we also just found out that my fil is in the hospital again and his kidneys aren't working. Talk about a crash course in the circle of life.
Q's/Vent? Does anyone have any experience or resources in talking to young children about death? We've been telling DD (age 3), that Grandad is very, very sick which is why Daddy has to leave, but I'm afraid of making her be afraid of being sick when he does actually die.
QOTW- If you could only have one aspect of fall for the rest of the season what would it be? Seeing the leaves change color. Not too excited about the cold, or the leaves actually falling off though.

Achievements: I think I probably mentioned this before but we sold dh's car that he replaced. I'm still so happy about it.
Challenges: Trying to sell ds' playground. People keep lowballing but we've had a ton of inquiries so I'm sure it'll sell soon. I just want it out of the backyard. Lol
Plans for the week? Speech is canceled tomorrow. Gonna call & cancel OT. No point in driving there for just one session. Friday afternoon, DS' school is having a Halloween parade. DH is hopefully going to leave work early so that he can come with.
How are YOU doing? Pretty good. I got a prescription for my mysterious allergies & it's giving me some relief. I slept really well last night & I haven't been blowing my nose much so far today so definitely better. Only crappy thing is I have a headache.
Q's/Vent? I would just love to take a nap & be able to still sleep at night. I could so go for a nap right now.
QOTW- If you could only have one aspect of fall for the rest of the season what would it be? definitely the fall foliage. This year has been weird with the weather so it's been delayed &/or leaves have already fallen without reaching peak color. I love fall pics.
Achievements: Nothing new. Still working on sitting up.
Challenges: She's in the process of staying up longer between naps. So finding a new schedule/routine had been tricky with lots of fussing.
Plans for the week? My toe is finally feeling better, so I think I'm going for a walk with my clinician tomorrow, then healthy families comes over. We need to go grocery shopping some time this week, so we'll probably go out for dinner then.
How are YOU doing? Sad. Jackson's birthday is coming up and it's hitting me pretty hard. He would have been 10 this year.
QOTW- If you could only have one aspect of fall for the rest of the season what would it be? The weather! I love all the rain when it's still warm enough to go for walks in it.
Hi all. When i'm suffering from infertility. There is a clinic, that can give me a good treatment as i want. There staff members are so good and kind. They can take care of my health like family members. Doctors are so qualified and good. They can treat me in good way.
