I'm not sure if I should put this in the working forum or not but it's not really work so I put this here. Anyway, my friends and I are planning to open an online store selling stuff we've made like accessories, throw pillows, etc. We're wondering if we should just settle for Paypal or if we should get a merchant account. Any advice?

Paypal would be the best option because it's free and easy to use, but if you intend to cater credit card transactions you can use your mobile to act as a credit card machine. You just need to install an app and attach a card reader to your mobile.
Our customers would then be limited to only those who have Paypal. I read somewhere that it can cause abandoned carts because some customers doesn't like the extra hassle of signing up. And, it isn't a physical store so it would be no use to have a credit card reader. One of my friends said that we should get a merchant account along with Paypal so we have more payment options. So I've been looking for one with decent rates. To those who have a merchant account, are the rates here in TSys good enough?
