@auri Thank you so much for posting this. Believe it or not I head over here to do the same thing. My morning routine of checking in here is one of the things keeping me from not focusing on everything right now.
namastebiotches I'm jealous of your little jack-o-lantern icon. How did you get that? I want one.
Achievements: H is at home with AG and doing a really good job with her. The last thing we thought was that he would be stepping into the role of SAHP after the birth of HL. He tells me that she tells him what to do. She knows her routine and guides him through the day. Also being so set in my morning routine and household business routine that I can pay our bills away from home.
Challenges: Making sure I take time for myself in all this chaos. I started out trying to be at the NICU every 3 hours, but between nursing, feeding HL her bottle to finish her off, pumping, turning in and logging pumped milk each trip to the NICU I'm there about 1 1/2 - 2 hours which only gives me and hour of downtime before I do it all over again. The nurses kept telling me I needed to take time off and I finally started listening Saturday.
Plans for the week? Try to remain calm and in a good place in all this chaos. I have a feeling HL won't be going home until at least Wednesday, if not later in the week.
How are YOU doing? I'm doing as good as I can be. Being at the Ronald McDonald House really helps. All the colors are very calming blues and earthy tones. That really helps.
Q's/Vent? In a way I'm happy HL is still in the NICU because it means I don't have to physically keep AG away from her. It is going to be so hard to tell AG she can't hug, kiss, or hold her little sister.
QOTW- What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? I'm not really sure.
Achievements: I can't really think of any. We are all alive, fed, and clean?! Hahha
Challenges: DSs sleeping (naps) are horrific. And I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing with my attempts to fix it. All of my irl mom friends agreed that since he won't nap in the rnp anymore, he won't nap in my arms, or his pnp that leaves the crib. He HAS to nap. Somewhere. Which means nap training/cio. He cried 5 minutes on day one and I was so excited because it's supposed to get better right? Day two 45 minutes with checks. Uh oh. Day 3 an hour before I threw in the towel. 😭
Plans for the week? Trying to get a handle on this nap issue.
How are YOU doing? Stressed about baby naps. Money is always on my mind. Otherwise pretty good. Night time isn't the worst or th best but I'm getting some decent stretches sooooo....
Q's/Vent? If anyone has any advice for a baby who legit won't nap anywhere let me know
QOTW- What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? My mom made me a beautiful pioneer girl costume with the dress and bonnet. I loved it!
teraiin, Keeping everyone alive, fed, and clean is definitely an achievement the first year! I don't know what you've tried with getting your DS to nap, but my DD was all about gentle movement. Rocking her to sleep, a gentle swing, rock and play, or even driving around in the car when I was desperate. I hope you can find something that works.
Achievements: She's finally rolling both ways!!! Last week she stated rolling back to belly and confusing herself. Time to baby proof!
Challenges: Still really fussy.
Plans for the week? Going for walks when it's not raining.
How are YOU doing? Meh. Jackson's birthday is on Wednesday and I'm having a hard time dealing with that. A friend came over and we talked about it a little and had cheesecake and wine to celebrate, but I just miss him so much. I hate that Ridley won't ever get to know her big brother. I hate that I never got to know him. I'm just sad.
QOTW- What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? I don't know that I have a favorite. We were poor so it was a lot of thrown together pieces that often didn't make much sense.
younglove316 when I was in high school my friends and I dressed up as bowling pins! One person dressed up as a ball and one person was the bowler. I think he got the better end of the deal in terms of comfort 😂
