Happy New Years!! I had a great break from school and really don't want to go back tomorrow!! Trying to relax on my last day off but at the same time put away Christmas and organize the house! Plus entertain the two year old!
I'm completely exhausted after a very rough night with the new babe last night. I lost my patience more than once with DS today as a result. Ugh. He really is a good kid; just very whiny and clingy at very inopportune times! I can't believe he's going to be 2 on Sunday 😩
reginaphalange3 I can't believe you have you go back already, to me it seems school vacation went very fast. dashook ugh I know what you mean, I have lost my patience with both DD and LO because of lack of sleep. Hugs mama hope little girl gives you some rest.

We're home and the house is a wreck with luggage and dirty laundry, even though I did laundry at the air bnb before we left. The trip was a success for the most part. One of DH's friend's kids came down with HFM on NYE so we didn't get to go over there. We did go see him and another one of DH's friends from highschool whose hubby is a realtor and it was good to be able to talk moving and neighborhoods. Mood was kind of depressed driving to the airport this morning. We didn't want to come home. We're both so ready to move, but if I'm really going to switch careers I need to do my school here and save on in-state tuition. That pushes the moving plan back to Sept 2019. Le sigh.

nemomof2 GL tomorrow! Hopefully you're less sore tomorrow. dashook Sorry for the rough night mama. Fx tonight is better for you. It's def hard to be patient with a toddler on little sleep. reginaphalange3 Ugh. Work is a 4 letter word for sure. I've had two very short work weeks and I don't want to go back tomorrow. At. All. GL going back!

Finally broke down and got medicine today. Trying to get over this awful cold.
I've already ranted on A17 but DH is driving me crazy trying to name this baby. He & my mom made me cry this evening because they ganged up on me and said I was going to get DS beat up by picking these "weird" names.
ourcrazynavylife You might have already shared by what names are in the running?
Honestly I don't even freaking know anymore. I thought we had narrowed it down to Nathaniel and Elliott. He backed out and decided he didn't really like Elliott which of course is what I preferred over Nathaniel.
Then I suggested Isaac this morning thinking he would love it and he doesn't even like it. I literally can't figure him out and I'm about to go crazy.
This is the top 5 he gave me (in no particular order) - Nathaniel - Gregory - Jackson - Jordan - Colin (Followed closely by Cameron and Elliott)
Mine looks more like - Malachi - Jonah - Garrick - Sullivan - Orion (Angus and Tobias)
Well, now I have a cold. I'm hoping it's the same one that dh and lo had because if this gets passed around again I'm going to lose my mind. We were able to get quite a bit done yesterday despite feeling crappy. I finally convinced dh to move our broken down love seat out of the living room and replace it with the chair from lo's room. I would have loved to see the couch go to the curb, but we "compromised" and it's in the basement. Our living room is much more open now. I love it!
reginaphalange3 good luck back at work! Hope your students are somewhat tame. dashook hope last night was better for you. nemomof2 good luck today! laceysbryan glad you had a good trip! Sorry your moving plans are on hold, I totally understand feeling stuck. We would love to move to something bigger, but the market is still a seller's market here and we got priced out of what we can afford. Hang in there! ourcrazynavylife feel better! Sorry YH and your mom ganged up on you about your names. That's so frustrating.
ourcrazynavylife I don't think those names are particularly weird. I'm sorry they made you feel bad, and that you guys are having trouble agreeing on something. ashlantic feel better! FX no one else gets sick!
ourcrazynavylife I like those names, I am so sorry that they made you feel bad. I made the mistake of sharing four names with my mom and she told me she hated them (thanks mom) so I haven't shared names with anybody else. Our names are: -Brooks Nash Tucker
ashlantic oh no, I hope you get to feeling better fast and no one else gets it.
I successfully went out alone with both kids today. Alex had his 1 mo appt, it went well. He's up to 10 lbs and 21.5 in.
I mentioned I lost my grandma last month. Well, looks like grandpa doesn't want to be here without her. He stopped eating and the drs say it won't be long now. When dh gets home he's going to take me to see him. They both were in their 90's, a good life together. I get more sad thinking about my aunts & uncles losing both parents at the same time.
I have been MIA. DH's family and us went up to Estes Park and stayed in cabins at the YMCA. Our SIL, 4 kids (+one boyfriend) and 3 Boxers came down from billings, which was awesome. It wasn't awesome having 6 dogs in one cabin when we all got together. Too much "who's the dominant dog" going on for my liking. DH is in town this week, but will be gone the next 2 weeks. Not looking forward to that, but I get it. He will be on business, but instead of coming home on the weekend, he will fly out to OR to visit a couple friends. We start house hunting again in a couple weeks. I'm excited, but there isn't much in the area we want. Just keep swimming, I guess lol. It's snowing, and supposed to continue for the next 2-3 days. Not going anywhere, so no plans.
littlelion my sympathies, that is tough to lose both your grandparents so close together. Congrats on taking both kids out solo, that is a big accomplishment! Alex is getting so big. raven I stayed at that YMCA in Estes Park when I was in high school, for a week in the summer and it was so fun.
Lo was putting in a valiant effort to climb out of his crib at naptime. Dh was all like "yay! A new milestone!" My reaction was more "FML." Thankfully he hasn't quite figured it out yet. I know it's coming, though.
nemomof2 I like those names! (And yours too, ourcrazynavylife) littlelion I went through something similar with my grandparents. Big hugs to you. Glad Alex had a good appt. And go you for a successful trip out with both the boys! raven sounds like a fun trip! Good luck solo parenting the next 2 weeks. ourcrazynavylife ouch. Good luck!
littlelion I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. Wishing you and your family (especially aunts and uncles) comfort; it's so hard to watch someone you love deteriorate that way. nemomof2 I like those names! Tucker is one of my faves actually but it will never be on the table for us because H has a cousin named Tucker, same last name.
DS had trouble going down tonight; not sure why. He kept crying and saying "Mama nah noo," or "A nah noo Mama," but I have no idea what that means. I feel so bad when I can't understand him! It must be frustrating for him too. He is finally asleep now so I'm hoping whatever issue he was having will be forgotten by morning.
Little lady is sleeping on me and I'm about to attempt to put her down in a moment. She had an extended crying fit this evening so FX she's tired! I haven't gotten more than 3 hours of consecutive sleep in maybe a week now? It sucks because prior to that she had been an amazing magic baby who did at least a 4, but more often a 5-7 hour stretch every night!
ashlantic thanks! M has even mastered climbing out of MIL crib so even though he has been in a toddler bed at out house he now won't even take naps when MIL has him. I have no idea what is going to happen when this new LO comes since she will be watching both kids while we are in the hospital.
dashook sleep regression , hopefully? I hope she goes back to being magic baby for you. My favorite name is Jackson (nickname Jack) but DH brother has a boy named Jackson so it was never an option for us. Funny thing is when we named Max we had no idea that DH had a cousin with a boy with the same name, same last name too, but luckily they live in CA.
Not in a nesting mood, but completely cleaning LO's toy box and toys. Started to clear out toys she's outgrown (put in storage for new baby) and found evidence of mice. Droppings all over the bottom of her toy chest. EWWWW!!!! Currently soaking everything plastic and changed toy box out for plastic bin.
It's a cool toy box, built by DH's grandfather. Being open on the side, rodents think it's a Hilton, though.
Working on keeping Leo busy without tv today. We're playing with some toys from christmas. A vtech number thing and a construction lego that's been his favorite. He's also asked to go outside a couple times. Sorry buddy, it's cold. Instead he got a bath. The kid has so much energy I encourage him to run laps around the house. When Dh gets home and they play soccer for a bit. Finally tapatalk works.
